Celebrating Two Family Birthdays! {Alpharetta Family & Children's Photographer}
In celebration for her little one's 1st and 3rd birthdays, Gabriella wanted a family portrait session to document the milestones. She has this wonderfully fun tradition of having a balloon to correspond with her children's ages. I love that idea and how awesome would that be if that is carried through their 18th birthdays?! The forecast the weekend prior to their family session looked like it would be an absolutely beautiful fall morning. But Hurricane Joaquin suddenly blew in and made Saturday's forecast look pretty grim. With limited days in the weeks following to reschedule the session, we opted to hold out until the morning of to make the decision if that was necessary. An hour before the session, there was a 0% chance of rain!
I wouldn't call that forecast very accurate. Though there was no "rain", there was some pretty heavy "misting". We decided to press on! Covering my camera with a one of my boys' sweaters I found in the back of my mini van, I was able to find some great light under covered areas over the sidewalks in downtown Senoia. Even with the mist continuing through the whole session, this family was willing to jump out from undercover and get a little damp. I actually love how the wet brick looks and how the overcast skies were able to diffuse the light to give bold, bright colors. And check out how adorable Graham & Lydia are with their balloons! We were so blessed to have the heavy downpours take a break during our session and I'm thrilled with the results.
