Family Pictures at McDaniel Farm Park {Atlanta Family Photographer}
I just loved capturing these Atlanta family pictures at the beautiful McDaniel Farm Park! My photography studio is based in Cumming, GA and this was my first opportunity to do a family portrait session at McDaniel Farm. What I loved about this park, which is located in Duluth, was the variety of backdrops it offered, making it one of the best Atlanta family portrait locations.
There are milestone moments in families lives where the importance of family portraits comes to the front of their minds. This family was sending their second child off to college and wanted to schedule their family photos before he headed off to school out of state. Upon meeting with these clients at their home in Dunwoody, I learned that they had not scheduled professional family portraits since their youngest was only months old! I was excited for the responsibility to deliver a meaningful experience.
During their in-home Portrait Design Consultation, we looked at walls they were considering for displaying their updated family pictures, discussed wardrobe options, and went over Atlanta portrait locations near them. I had visited McDaniel Farm park with my sons, scouting the location to discover what it might offer in regard to family portrait sessions. With this visit in mind, I thought it would be the perfect backdrop for their family pictures!
As is typical for August in Georgia, it was a pretty hot evening! There are a lot of cool spots within McDaniel Farm Park, including an old rusty truck, rustic barn structures, tree lined pathways, and a white cottage with an awesome covered porch. I enjoyed working with a family with teens, seeing how close of a relationship they had and how much fun they had together.
The family returned to my home photo studio in Cumming for their Reveal & Ordering Appointment. We worked together to help them compare expressions and select their favorite pictures for their walls. They fell in love with the unique look of metal prints, which have a beautiful shine and really make the colors pop. We created a collection of images for them to display together. I've shared a short video of two of the metal prints they selected; they are even more stunning in person!
