Summer Family Pictures at Jones Bridge Park {Atlanta Family Photographer}
Jones Bridge park is one of my favorite Atlanta locations for family portraits! As an Atlanta Family photographer, I spend a lot of time searching local parks for ideal portrait locations for my clients. This little park is tucked down in Peachtree Corners and served as an awesome backdrop for this beautiful family.
This Fall brought about big changes for this family; their son is headed off to college out of state! What better time to commemorate this huge family change than documenting it through professional family pictures?! Even more special was the fact that they had never had formal family portraits! I met with Mom at their home in the Peachtree Corners area to plan the details for their family portrait session. I made recommendations on wardrobe colors based on the decor on their home, which included muted greens and pops of red.
When it came time to selecting the perfect family portrait location for their photo session, Mom mentioned that she had fond memories of going to Jones Bridge Park when her kids were little and feeding the ducks and watching them play in the water. I absolutely love scheduling a photo session at a location that holds sentimental value to my clients! It sets a context to the images that is richer than simply a pretty backdrop. When I meet with families for their Portrait Design Consultation, this is something I really strive to find for families so that their sessions are not simply cookie cutter!
The family photo shoot was on a hot late summer evening, which was great because I spent a lot of time wading around knee deep in the river! And much like Mom’s memories of their time at Jones Bridge Park in years past, the park was extremely crowded with people playing in the water and enjoying picnics along the bank. You’d never know by seeing the pictures, thanks to the magic of Photoshop! I always aim to get various family groupings during photo shoots; especially of Mom & Dad. Many couples hardly have any quality professional portraits of themselves, so I take an extra step during sessions to make sure we get a few shots of them together as well!
