Hali + Martin {August Wedding at The Georgia Club near Athens, GA}

I had the honor of capturing the gorgeous wedding of two Georgia swimming athletes, Hali Flickinger and Martin Grodski. Hali even made her Olympic debut in Rio! Being a UGA alum myself, I was so excited to be invited by Over Here Photography to photograph Hali & Martin's wedding.

The event was held at the beautiful Georgia Club in Statham, GA, just down the road from Athens and the UGA campus. All the details Hali selected for her wedding were simply stunning, from the dusty pink roses to the rose gold bridesmaid dresses that added so much elegance to the wedding. I worked mostly with the groom for the beginning of the day and grabbed details from around the venue and reception hall. The groomsmen were patient to deal with so much Georgia August heat. Hali & Martin provided their guests some respite from that heat by placing a bottle of water and a sweet little fan at each seat, which their guests very much enjoyed!

Hali and Martin chose not to do a "first look" prior to their ceremony. She was adorable all morning, sending him snapshots of her hair, hands, etc through the day in anticipation, but not sharing her face! A romantic string quartet played as the wedding party made their procession down toward The Georgia Club's gazebo, which was covered in the most beautiful floral garlands. Their swim coach actually officiated the ceremony! Hali and Martin wrote their own vows, which brought tears to the eyes of all in attendance. The entire party was so full of joy and excitement for these two! The toasts made painted the beautiful story of how two lives became intertwined, fell in love, and carried them to this day. The guests, who were mostly linked through Georgia swimming, had a blast dancing on the dance floor.
